Overview

Commercial Bottle Coolers are an essential part of any pub, bar, restaurant or shop selling cold drinks. These units are designed to keep bottled drinks at the ideal temperature whilst allowing customers to see and buy the products.

Commercial v Domestic

Commercial Bottle Coolers use higher quality components and are built to last longer under harsher conditions such as almost constant use and the sort of knocks you’d expect in a busy bar area.

While sizing is an issue to fit in the relevant space, they are usually classified by litres or the amount of bottles they will hold.

The Different Types

There are a range of sizes and types of Bottle Cooler to suit your requirements with multiple sizes and door options available.

Mini Bar Fridges for a hotel room tend to come with solid (usually reversible) doors and run pretty much silently as you don’t want your guests kept awake by the humming of a fridge! They will normally come with shelves to cater for bottles and snacks and some with a lock.

Back Bar Bottle Coolers come in a range of widths and heights from single to four door under-counter units to single and double door upright units.

What To Look For

Possibly the main thing to look for is the size and will it fit into your bar, shop, kitchen or hotel room?

Will it fit in with the surroundings if it’s on display? If you are displaying products to customers then internal lighting will help show off the contents.

Wattage is also a consideration as usually these units will be on 24 hours a day although efficiency is also worth considering.

Caring For Your Bottle Cooler

Regular cleaning of your bottle cooler will ensure it is running efficiently. Generally, non-abrasive cleaning materials are recommended and keeping door seals clean so that they close fully, however make sure you follow the manufacturer’s guidance.

This will depend on what you are selling but about 4oc – 6oc is considered a good range for most bottled beers and soft drinks.
